안녕하세요 한국에서 (Hello from Korea!)

Hello and welcome to my first blog post ever!
Sorry for the delay but I just got the internet in my room working today. Here are a few updates from the first days of my trip.

June 23: After saying goodbye to my parents, I left Edmonton at 11:10 am. I saw Edy Wong (Associate Dean International for the U of A School of Business) getting on my flight so that was kind of cool. Wonder if he was heading off on a business trip to Asia.

I arrived in Vancouver and half felt like I was already in Asia because there were announcements in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. My flight to Tokyo was delayed so I decided to waste some of my Canadian money on a caramel macchiato (even though there are tons of Starbucks in Korea and Japan).

June 24: After 9.5 hours and 4 movies on the plane, I finally made it to Tokyo. I was greeted by the perfect Narita ladies only to find out that they had rebooked my flight to Seoul and I was stuck waiting around for another 3.5 hours. I pushed my little cart around feeling like a zombie but I knew if I sat down I would fall asleep and there would be no one to guard my stuff.

At 8:30 pm, I headed off to Korea on Asiana Airlines and mostly slept through the whole flight. It's interesting that Air Canada only feeds you 1 real meal for 9.5 hours but Asiana will feed you for a 2 hour flight.

After landing in Incheon, it was pretty smooth sailing to clear the swine flu check, grab my bags, and find the shuttle to the lovely hotel dearest mother booked for me :)

June 25: Woke up at 9 am and packed everything into my colossal black sack again. I went on the hunt for breakfast/lunch and found a nice little restaurant with a picture menu on the wall (now my prerequisite for dining somewhere). I ate some kind of oyster tofu soup and sat beside 2 Korean policemen. After eating, I headed back to Incheon Airport so that I could take a limousine bus to Yonsei campus. An hour or so later, I was in Seoul near Sinchon station.
